To setup HICAPS you will need the following

  • HICAPS physical terminal

  • Windows PC

  • Zavy HICAPS Bridge APP (Downloaded from Zavy)

  • HICAPS Connect v4.0.0.1 (See bottom of page for the download link)

Installing HICAPS Connect

Please refer to the HICAPS documentation for this step, its recommend to install this software on the machine you intend to claim from, if HICAPS connect is already installed and setup you can skip this step.

Installing Zavy HICAPS Bridge APP (One time setup per machine)

HICAPS cant connect directly to a cloud system so a bridging app is required, we have created a native Windows bridging app which will talk to the local HICAPS software and enable patient claiming. This step needs to be completed only on PC's that you wish to use to process HICAPS claims, often front desk / reception.

  • Confirm HICAPS connect is already configured and working before starting this step

  • Log into Zavy360 Practice App and head over to Setting>Financial>HICAPS

  • Click on the Download Zavy HICAPS Bridge button

  • disable HTTPS

  • Install the Zavy HICAPS Bridge software on your machine

  • Start the software via the desktop Icon

  • You will be asked if you want to install security certificate, click yes, this allows secure transmission of data to the browser

  • Allow the app through your firewall when prompted

  • You should see a terminal listed and you can sync data, a HICAPS terminal prompt will display on screen to show the data syncing if successful

Configure Zavy to talk to the Zavy HICAPS Bridge App (One time setup)

  • Option 1 Single PC setup: We are going to configure your Zavy to talk to a single machine, this means you can only process claims on the machine where HICAPS connect and the Zavy Bridge software is setup and configured. This is the simplest method and works with most IT infrastructure.

    • Make sure HICAPS is enabled

    • Set the bridge host app address to 127.0.0.1:5555

    • Make sure the HICAPS connect app is configured and install on the same machine

    • Click Test HICAPS bridge connection, it should come back as successful you can skip the next step, if it doesn't see extra step that some browsers require.

  • Option 2 (Advanced), this method requires your IT team to make sure you have a static IP assigned to machines but can be used to claim from any device on the you local network that has access to the specific IP address and Port. It has many benefits like being able to claim on Mac's, iPads etc as long as you have a single Windows PC on the network you can claim with HICAPS.

    • Set a static IP on the machine you will use to interface with HICAPS connect

    • On the PC firewall, open the port number required to communicate, default 5555

    • Enter your PC's static IP add port number for the Zavy bridging app.

    • Hit test which should come back successful

Troubleshooting

If having issues connect from the bridge app to Zavy make sure

  • Make sure the Zavy Bridge App is started

  • HICAPS connected is started and it can see the terminals on the network

  • No firewall

Thats it your Zavy cloud system is configured to talk to your HICAPS terminals.

You can always reach out to support for help with any of the steps.
